The Founder

Jason didn't discover building science in a classroom. He grew up on job sites, working alongside his father — a custom home builder — from his early teens. He pulled nails, learned the craft, and absorbed a deep respect for what it means to build something right.

In 2001, Jason's own home was destroyed by fire. While rebuilding, his research led him across the border into Canada, where he discovered something that stopped him cold: high-performance ERV and HRV ventilation systems were already mandatory by building code — not just in Canada, but across Europe. Meanwhile, the United States had virtually no residential ventilation standards at all.

That discovery lit a fire that has burned for 25 years.

The Problem We Solve

For over a decade, Jason has owned and operated Insulation of Maine, a high-end insulation company based in Hancock, Maine. That work gave him a front-row seat to a quiet crisis unfolding inside American homes.

Modern construction techniques are making homes tighter and more energy-efficient than ever. That's a good thing — until it isn't. Airtight homes trap stale air, volatile organic compounds, and hazards like radon. Jason went into his Maine shop and fixed that.
